Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko's coma seen by Rosetta

Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko will reach perihelion, closest point to the Sun, on 13 August 2015. As the comet approaches, frozen ices sublimate and the escaping gas carries streams of dust out into space creating the coma. Rosetta captured comet’s activity between 31 January and 25 March, from about 30 to 100 km to the comet, at distances between 363 million and 300 million km from the Sun.
