David Rosen, the President of Kendall College of Art & Design, talks about the true power of a college education. He examines the idea that a college education is a form of capital with worth and buying power, that it has value. He expands on this idea by looking at how we can invest in ways to allow more people, especially those who are traditionally not able to go to college, to gain this power. and, he looks at how this idea has inspired a group of people, including him, in West Michigan to create a public school with exactly this goal in mind. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
