Open Studio is a video series that takes you inside the studios and creative spaces of Banff Centre's artists. Unlike most concerts, when this show starts, you can leave your phone on. Written for the International Contemporary Ensemble, “Bells” puts the audience on a conference call that becomes part of the performance. A theatre of phones on speaker the call becomes a decentralized PA system, adding different layers of sound to the piece. Composer Nathan Davis joined us this summer as faculty for the music residency, Ensemble Evolution.
