My new years resolution this year is to practice, practice, practice until i can play the Warheads solo. I have been practicing the Warheads solo for 12 weeks now and quite frankly i'm still really bad, However i was able to progress with an attempt at playing Midnight Express something i have never been able to do, so after a week of practicing i rushed out and bought my first decent acoustic. Three weeks after that a million takes and a broken string later, i am just managing to get the speed up to around 85% of the original version, sticking with it for now as i still need to clean up and work on the fluency of the technique before i attempt raising the BPM. A few of us N4 enthusiasts are documenting our progress, this is the reason for creating the Backing Track in my previous upload. The guitar is a LAG T100DCE, only the second guitar i tried but was happy with its sound, in this vid i am tuned to drop Db as i have not yet had the guitar set up for down tuning so there is a lot of buzz, however i am still wondering if it is because i am hammering the guitar too much so i shall work on this before any adjustments are made. Recoreded on a mobile phone (hence the quality) plugging the guitar into a KorgD1600 to capture the audio then adding this to the video in post. If i can get to 95% speed by the end of the year i will be very happy, but as for the Warheads solo, i wont give up but that will not be going up on Youtube anytime soon.
