(11 Nov 2018) The death toll of the Camp Fire in northern California has risen to 23, but is likely to increase further as investigators reach habited areas devastated by the monster wildfire. The fire is now the third-deadliest on record in the state, another statistic for a blaze logged at 164 square miles (425 square kilometres) that has cost at least 8.1 million US dollars to fight so far, according to California's Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. Entire neighbourhoods were levelled, destroying more than 6,700 buildings, almost all of them homes. More firefighters are headed to the area, with wind gusts of up to 50 miles (80 kilometres) per hour expected through Monday, raising the risk of conditions similar to those when the fire started on Thursday.
