Sandaoling, in China's north western province of Xinjiang, is now the very last example of regular industrial steam to be found hard at work anywhere in the world. It is the end of 200 years use of steam power in industry and represents a unique moment in industry. In this sequence, we can see an empty train propelling backwards into the mine. It stops briefly (only 30 seconds edited out) at the passing point, as a loaded train heads out of the mine and begins the steep climb out of the mine area. Recorded in December 2018.
