PATCH NOTES

The patch centres around the Steady State Fate Ultra Random Analog. It's clock output strikes a Mutable Instruments Streams to generate a short envelope to pluck the RYO Apeture in low pass gate mode which has the Erica Synths Black Varishape VCO at the input.

The URA modulates it's own clock (with the clock FM input) with the R-Flux output. This in unattenuated however, the influence over positive and negative swings in the R-Flux is modulated with the URA's Opto-Integrator output which is generated from the onboard Random Gate.

I have three AJH Synth Minimod VCOs tuned to a chord (C minor chord with C, Eb and G) set as a basic droned mixed and filtered in an AJH Synth Minimod Transistor Ladder Filter. The cut off of the ladder filter is modulated by the SSF URA's R-Flux output (split on a stackable cable).

The Filter's output is mixed into a second Transistor Ladder Filter alongside the plucked RYO Aperture output. This second filter is purely used as a mixer with no additional filtering and then sent into the Make Noise Erbe Verb.

The Erbe Verb has it's size, modulation depth, EQ tilt and decay modulated by the Sample and Hold A, Sample and Hold B, Sample and Hold toggle AB and Random Gate from the SSF URA.

The Erbe Verb has a CV output which is envelope follower on the reverb output. I send the CV output into an attenuator (Mutable Instruments Shades) before going into the ADDAC 207 Quantizer with the notes C, Eb and G as the only available pitches. The quantizer channel is triggered by the SSF URA's clock output which is central clocking and modulation source through the patch. The quantizer is sending pitch CV to the Black Varishape VCO going into the RYO Aperture LPG.

Manual adjustments were made which are listed below.

The basic idea was that the reverbs envelope would decide the pitches in the patch, with random modulation of the Erbe Verb resulting in changing pitches. Self patching the URA gives fluctuating and ramping timing changes, while pinning the sound down with a simple minor chord and pad underneath keeps things musical simple while sonically things are changes sometimes drastically.

Starts just pads, erbe verb un-modulated

modulation from erbe verb removed

reverb mix turned up full

input volume faded down to erbe verb with decay/reverb left to ring

decay adjusted for "infinite sustain" and then backed off to naturally fade out.
