Absynth is not always the first thing that comes to mind when you think about aggressive dubstep sounds, but maybe it should!

Inside Absynth you'll find some great modules that can help you allot while building more aggressive sounds, in this video we will explore some of them.

As most people know the wave-shaper is an ideal way to push your boring sine wave to new crazy levels, but have you also tried this with a maxed out resonance?
It is true that the key for most ''standard' dubstep sounds is filter modulation, but resonance also plays a huge role, especially if you're going for those screaming sounds. For example try modulating the resonance up while you modulate the filter cutoff down at the same moment, the weirdest stuff can happen!
And you can take this even further by modulating the envelope breakpoints to a controller.

Controller mapping is always a good idea in Absynth, this enables you to morph your sound into different sounds and have a lot of flexibility. You can make your whole drop by just using one simple patch and a controller, especially if you copy your synth down to multiple channels!

Happy Sound-designing!
