I read this through about three times early today, then recorded this. One take, and a pretty awful one at that. I totally blew the second set of trills and don't play the little ornamented arpeggio thing as the ossia staff indicates but maybe you can call that an interpretation. Oh yeah, and I forgot the key signature at least once. Whatever, it's really hot tonight and I'm not doing this over.

As per request on Reddit /r/bassoon

Here's how I would play the trills at the opening:
B-C# - play B, trill third finger left hand
C#-D# - play short C# fingering, trill third finger left hand
D#-E - play first D# normally, move to normal E fingering, remove right hand for false forked D# overblown and trill third finger right hand. Terminate trill using normal fingerings
E-F# - play E as normal, trill 2nd and 3rd fingers in right hand.
F#-G trill - play F# normally and trill 2nd finger right hand

Second pass:
1. Same trill as the first one, but with whisper key.
2 .Same as in overblown octave but with whisper key.
E-F# - play E and trill using F# trill key (high Eb key)
