Job entailed removing two young cottonwoods, which were a bit over 100 feet tall. plus four smaller ones, two of which we felled, and the other two we craned in one piece. The larger two had a total of three tops, which were a bit high for ACDeucy's 23 ton truck mount which has a max tip height of about 100 feet. But we were able to take the entire tops by cutting low enough to allow them to come off without tipping too much. Total crane time may have been less than four hours, plus some time loading the larger logs onto Kenneth Crowell's 12 foot trailer. This was a life saver, as I had not been thinking and only added $500 for wood removal. Early on, my 12 ' chipper blew a 2" piece of steel off the lower cowling, so I frantically called Patrick of Westside Tree Care, who didn't need his chipper and brought it right over. What a job saver!! You rawk, Patrick. The next day, after getting my chipper welded up, it took over two back breaking hours to chip up the wood that his 9" chipper wouldn't eat. Made 15 more yards, to add to the appx 28 yards from crane day. Maybe 30-35,000 pounds of trees...and that was leaving 10 foot stems. Glad the customer had us do that, or it would have been even more work.
