Prior to his current assignment, he served as Senior Consulting  Editor with Doordarshan News, India’s public news  broadcaster; Editorial Consultant with Asianet News  Network; Chief Political Correspondent with Press Trust of India and Group Media Advisor to Dalmia  Bharat Enterprises Ltd. Mr Suresh is a Member of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the  prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi;  Governing Council, Film and Television Institute of  India, Pune; Society of Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute, Kolkata; Board of Management, AJK Mass Communication Research Centre, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi Research Committee of Indian Council of Social Science Research, General Council of Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism & Communication, Bhopal; and Academic Council, Central University of Himachal Pradesh.
