Virus Evolution Editors-in-Chief Prof. Oliver Pybus and Prof. Santiago F. Elena share their thoughts on the aims of Virus Evolution and how you can get involved. http://ve.oxfordjournals.org/ Virus Evolution is a new Open Access journal focusing on the long-term evolution of viruses, viruses as a model system for studying evolutionary processes, viral molecular epidemiology and environmental virology. The aim of the journal is to provide a forum for original research papers, reviews, commentaries and a venue for in-depth discussion on the topics relevant to virus evolution. Prof. Oliver Pybus Is a Professor of Evolution & Infectious Disease at Oxford University. ‘My research aims to explain the evolutionary dynamics of pathogens, particularly viral infections of humans, including HIV/AIDS, the Hepatitis C Virus, and Influenza.’ Prof. Santiago F. Elena CSIC Research Professor SFI External Professor Research Interests: ‘In general, my scientific interests are related with the evolutionary biology of microbes. More concretely, this interest is focused in the study, within the framework of Populations Genetics, of the mechanisms that generate and maintain the genetic variability of RNA viruses.' © Oxford University Press
