The 29th December 2008 saw 56312 used on Pathfinder's 'Settle & Carlisle Explorer' tour from Derby to Carlisle via Shrewsbury and of course, the S&C. We first viewed the tour at Cosford running 15 minutes down, and then a quick dive up to Whitchurch to get the beast screaming up the grade away from the station. A respectable load 13 and a dead 67 is no trouble for the Hanson Traction Type 5.
