The US Federal Reserve's Open Market Committee gathered Tuesday for two days of meetings. The committee, which sets U.S. monetary policy, is expected to issue a statement Wednesday on already record low interest rates. But experts say disappointing economic data in recent weeks has raised the prospect that the central bank will take additional measures to speed job growth and energize the flagging recovery.
