A private American company is preparing to launch the first commercial spacecraft to the International Space Station (ISS) on April 30. The mission is a test flight that will see an unmanned SpaceX Dragon capsule lap around the ISS and conduct a comprehensive test of its navigation, maneuverability and communications systems before it docks with the ISS. SpaceX is working on a manned version of the Dragon capsule it hopes will be ready by 2017. The capsule would replace the now-retired Space Shuttle and end NASA's reliance on Russia to ferry astronauts to the International Space Station. Source: Wired
