Actor and journalist Ross Kemp is backing the Walking Home for Christmas campaign, which supports veterans.

The charity project encourages people to walk to highlight the struggles veterans face when returning from war zones. 

Of the 750,000 men and women who served as regulars between 1991 and 2014, at least 66,000 need long term support.

Seven people are medically discharged from the Armed Forces every day - two of these due to mental health reasons.
