On 12 January 2015, Imperial College London's Institute of Chemical Biology Centre for Doctoral Training hosted CDT Den, a Dragons’ Den-style event where doctoral students pitched their business ideas to a panel of judges. Four teams were chosen out of a 17-strong cohort to participate in the final, sponsored by Imperial Innovations. The judging panel consisted of Professor James Stirling, Provost of Imperial College London, Professor Jackie Hunter, Chief Executive of BBSRC, Dr Alison Wall, Associate Director, Impact at EPSRC, and Paul Atherton, Founder of Nexeon.
