So, the issue is (thanks to my friends on the Helix Board) is that Snapshots will not change with a footswitch pressed. So... I reinstalled my One Control Basilisk to do pure looper control and made the top row of snapshots "stopping" the looper and the bottom row, the same snapshots, but they "play" the looper. It seems pretty rock solid.
