Affiliate Marketing is what were talking about today. Yesterday I logged into my Amazon Associates account which I havn't logged into for a while and noticed it said my earnings for one day August 1, were over $100. I was a bit surprised as Amazon typically isn't a big earner for me, though I have made maybe $300 a month on my best month, typically my earnings are $30, $50, maybe $100 at the very most. I thought there was a glitch and maybe it was giving me July earnings as opposed to just the earnings for one day, the day of August 1. I double checked and sure enough, I had made over $100 in a single day with the Amazon Affiliate program which honestly isn't even something I put much time or effort into and literally hadn't done anything with for weeks. I logged in to view my sales and noticed among many smaller sales I had a single sale in which someone bought 20 tablets at $80 a pop for a total of $1600. On that sale I made $65. Another thing to take note of, I've never in my life promoted a tablet. That's one of the beautiful things about affiliate marketing. You don't have to get a sale for the exact item you promote. I've never promoted a tablet. It's very likely the person who bought those 20 tablets actually clicked an Amazon link for a $2 phone charger but also wound up buying 20 tablets and I still get credit for that. Lately alot of you have been asking me about affiliate marketing and I've been spending more time with affiliate marketing as well so thought I would make a video on the topic. The more affiliate links you put out there the more chances you have that a big buyer will click one of those links and you'll get a big pay day. While affiliate marketing typically isn't a huge earner of mine, each affiliate program I'm a member of is typically good for anywhere from $50 a month to a few hundred a month and if you're in a few programs all that money starts to add up. It's also a fairly passive form of income and best of all, it's a good way to find profitable niches which you can later get into with ecommerce. For example, affiliate marketing is a great way to test a niche. Maybe I start a blog about magic, I wind up driving a lot of traffic and selling a lot of other people's magic toys and props. If I wind up selling alot, I've essentially proven I can sell in that niche and at that point I may want to consider buying, stocking and selling my own magic related items and its a pretty safe bet I'll be able to sell them as I've been able to sell other peoples. These days I'm putting a lot more emphasis on affiliate marketing than I have in the past. W'ell see how things go. Are you into affiliate marketing? What affiliate programs are you having the best luck with?
