We got our dog Pierre five years ago and especially wanted a dog that wouldn't be too big for kids to handle and that was from a breed or breeds that were known to be good with kids.  We really like the Havanese- a Cuban breed of "house dog", but they were quite pricey.  So we jumped at the chance to get the last of the litter of a mixed litter of Havanese and Papillon.  As you can see he didn't inherit the upright ears that give the Papillon that "butterfly" look.  But he has been healthy and a good family dog.  The name of the mixed breed is Havallon and you might want to check it out if you are looking for a dog for your family.
