With her voice and guitar, folk musician Ella Janes takes the audience to another world. Listen as singer-songwriter Ella Janes performed her wonderful songs at TEDxDresden 2018: „Things I Didn’t Say“, „The Lake“, „Gonna Be There“.  Ella Janes is an independent folk musician living in Berlin, who combines her love for storytelling with her passion for music in her songwriting. Her sound draws faithfully from 60s folk artists such as Simon & Garfunkel and French songstress Françoise Hardy, whose music she discovered during her time living abroad in Nantes (France) in 2013.

She has supported artists like Simple Minds and was part of the London music scene as a resident of Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in Soho. Ella opened 2018 with the release of a new live EP recorded in a friend’s West London studio and has since been opening for Jools Holland at various dates on his spring and autumn tours throughout the UK, finishing at the Royal Albert Hall in London in December. She is due to release a second EP late summer. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
