Part 3 of our Iceland trip. We get an early start as we make our first stop at a geothermal power station that pumps the hot natural water into Reykjavik. We make our second stop at a church before stopping again at Gullfoss, a truly majestic waterfall that will take your breath away. Following Gullfoss, we take a short drive to Geysir and watch the forces of nature at work. Our final stop takes us to Þingvellir (pronounced thingvellier) National Park where you can physically see the breaking apart of Iceland because of the American & Eurasian tectonic plates. But don't worry, because of Iceland's volcanic structure, new land forms so in essence, Iceland is getting bigger! To our surprise, we also got confirmation of the northern lights tour.
