With its sandy soil and subtropical climate, coastal Georgia provides an ideal spot to grow a crop not often seen here in the United States. The Monitor’s Damon Jones traveled to Lebanon Plantation in Savannah, where they’re producing ginger used in products that recently made the Oprah Winfrey “Favorite Things” list.
