#PoliticalAdda Pakistan’s foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has poked fun at his Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj in diplomatically risqué comments that are likely to rile New Delhi. India had cancelled a proposed meeting between the two ministers on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly after the brutal killing of policemen in Jammu and Kashmir and the release of a postage stamp by Pakistan that glorified Kashmiri militant commander Burhan Wani. The finance minister hit back at Congress criticism and stressed that the revision of GDP is a conventional exercise carried out by a credible institution like the CSO. The CSO, in the year 2015, changed the way of calculating Gross Domestic Product (GDP). GDP growth rate estimates were revised from the year 2012-13 onwards with 2011-12 being the base year. Since then, every quarter and annually, GDP data is released on that basis. The immediate impact of the revision based on the new GDP series was on the last two years of the UPA Government. Thousands of farmers gathered in New Delhi on Thursday to protest against the government and raising demands for the implementation of farmer welfare schemes and loan waivers. The two-day Kisan Mukti Morcha, organised by the All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC), will march from Delhi's Hazrat Nizamuddin to Ramlila Maidan.
