Broadsword and Jian: While my primary art is Highland Broadsword, Ive been cross-training in Baguazhang for about a year with Ian Gamble of Full Circle Synergy in Maine. Ive also been cross-training in Jianfa or Chinese Historical Swordsmanship with a student of Scott Rodells. I wanted to test my understanding of the arts I cross-train in, so I fought a light sparring bout with my broadsword student Matt Park. While I do attempt to use Bagua and Jianfa tactics in this bout, my experience of both arts is very limited and I dont claim to represent these arts. Having said that, I hope this video will prove to be interesting.
