This outdoor mural was painted on the side of a pawn shop at a busy intersection of North Lamar in Austin, TX. The outdoor wall mural promoted the TV show Childrens Hospital which airs on Adult Swim, a network famous for guerrilla marketing and viral marketing. The face in the mural is of the character Dr. Blake Downs, a doctor who wears clown makeup, played by Rob Corddry (formerly of The Daily Show). The sign was removed after 2-3 weeks, and I was glad to no longer see it on my commute. I edited the video as a parody of a traditional Adult Swim bump.

What is a bump? For a definition of a bump, here is an excerpt from Wikipedia: "In broadcasting, a commercial bumper, ident bumper or break bumper (often shortened to bump) is a brief announcement, usually two to 15 seconds, placed between a pause in the program and its commercial break, and vice versa. The host, the program announcer or a continuity announcer states the title (if any) of the presentation, the name of the program, and the broadcast or cable network, though not necessarily in that order. Bumper music, often a recurring signature or theme music segment, is nearly always featured. Bumpers can vary from simple text to short films." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commercial_bumper

Childrens Hospital is shown on Adult Swim on Sunday nights in the United States. Adult Swim shares channel space with the Cartoon Network. According to Wikipedia, "Childrens Hospital is a satirical comedy television series and web series that lampoons the medical show genre, created by and starring actor/comedian Rob Corddry. " Childrens Hospital also features Rob Huebel, Lake Bell, Henry Winkler (Happy Days, Arrested Development), and Megan Mullally (Will & Grace).
