Here are 5 haikus collectively titled "Autumn". They were written during January 2009 and are performed live with an improvised ukulele accompaniment. The chord sequence is F ///| Am ///| F ///| Dm ///| etc Here are the haikus. They follow the usual pattern of 5, 7 & 5 syllables. A single leaf falls Carpeting the naked soil Autumn has begun The fir tree bends in Obeisance to the wind Bowing to its power Trees sway branches creek Sounds of bending and breaking Leaves falling softly The ground is covered And embraced by brittle leaves Littering my path All the trees are bare Like skeletons rising up From the living earth Five Haikus: Autumn 16/01/09
