I wasn't sold on Tetris Effect at all, because it just looked like "we put a bunch of distracting effects on an old game" but the moment I actually played it I think I fell in love with it. It turns Tetris in to a rhythm game in the Rez/Lumines style. In a way it's like, sure, okay, it might "just" be Tetris, but judging by the demo it's probably one of the top ten versions of Tetris.
