"In terms of health care, we spend more than any country on Planet Earth, both in gross numbers and in terms of per-capita," says Burd-Sharps. "We spend three times what Japan spends on health care per person, yet they outlive us by four years. We are number 24 in terms of our peer nations in Western Europe and Scandinavian countries, Australia, Japan, Canada, et cetera."
