12.18.2018 | 2:00 PM | SIMI VALLEY - A crossing guard was dead after being struck by a car, Tuesday afternoon. Authorities responded to crash at the intersection of Los Angeles and Socrates avenues around 2:00 PM. Crews arriving on scene located a female crossing guard that had been struck by a vehicle that jumped a curb. Firefighter paramedics treated the crossing guard on scene before transporting her to an area hospital where she later died from her injuries. The driver of the vehicle that hit the crossing guard remained on scene and appeared to be cooperating with authorities.
