Hunt 07: For Whom the Wyrm TollsPetitioner: Balzac
Petitioner's Location: Rabanastre (Lowtown) 

Saw bill posted for the hunting of a ring wyrm (Rank III). The petitioner is Balzac in the North Sprawl in Rabanastre's Lowtown. 
Hunt accepted. Balzac complains that a particularly aggressive dragon is interfering with his training. The ring wyrm is to be found amongst the Windtrace Dunes of the Dalmasca Westersand, but only when the weather is just so. 
Ring wyrm defeated! Report to Balzac in the North Sprawl in Rabanastre's Lowtown. 
Hunt reported. Upon receiving the news, Balzac said a few ominous words and left town...

"Once a legendary Wyrm, in servitude to a righteous King. But this King, fearing its violent & untameable Temperament, employed a Ring of Binding upon it, imprisoning the Creature within a howling Sandstorm. Now, many ages later, the Bonds upon it have been broken, and within the Sandstorm the Wyrm rages. The Resistance Forces training in the Dalmasca Westersand have deemed the Creature a clear Threat to their Operations and thus have issued a Bill for this Mark."

Battle The player should buy Esuna before battling this mark because it will inflict Sap, Immobilize, and Disable on the party. A level of at least 30 is recommended, as is the acquiring of the best weapons available. The Ring Wyrm's massive HP can make this battle very difficult, and he likes to cast Refresh on himself, which heals nearly 1/4 of his max HP. You should open the battle with Dispel, then use a normal boss-battle strategy of physical attacks and magicks. If you can, use well-timed Quickenings to lower his HP well, and summon Belias (or other Espers, but both that Belias if Fire-elemental - the Ring Wyrm is weak to fire -, a heavy hitter, and obtained early in the game makes him a good choice) if you can, but back away from the battle and keep them in good shape by casting Cure/Curaga on them, or use Charge repeatedly to be able to summon it again when it uses it's Final Attack or Dies. If he heals himself, quickly lower his HP back down with physical attacks and strong magicks.
