Yvonne Biyo served as finance coordinator for two MSF projects in North Darfur from December 2007 to September 2008. Based in El Fasher, she was in charge of finances for projects in Tawila and Shangil Tobaya. During her assignment, the projects and staff experienced a rash of robberies, prompting an evacuation and a risk-analysis study. Yvonne, along with the rest of the team, had to decide whether to stay and continue providing the only medical care people in this area had access to, or to close the project.
