Aleidria Lichau is a graduate student in the Department of Community Development and Applied Economics and is the Lead Sustainability Educator at the Cloud Institute. Aleidria's interests include providing education reform processes that build a bridge between the disparate values of the human and natural economies through education for sustainability. She came to UVM to study the design process of the first magnet school with the theme of sustainability, but she comes to Vermont with years of experience and a deep understanding in environmental education. In her presentation, Aleidria will describe how in education for sustainability there unsustainable metal models that get in the way of our ability to solve problem using reflective thinking. She will explain how thinking drives behavior and, in turn, how behavior drives the results that we see around us.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
