The unseasonably warm and dry spring is hard on wolves that still have a thick winter pelage. Activity levels are much more crepuscular (dawn and dusk), than diurnal (daytime). Without any rain, the vegetation is slow to green up, leaving an exhibit of dust and dry grass and straw. The pond line thawed, but a waterline break has stalled the upper pond waterfall. Hopefully, some rain and a repair job to the waterline can help keep the pond flowing, the grass green and the wolves cool.
