Specially fabricated steel pieces required for US 69 bridge repairs in KCK

The Kansas Department of Transportation said it hopes to reopen the US 69 bridge over the Kansas River by the end of November, but construction crews may continue work under the bridge until mid-December. A KDOT spokesperson said during construction work, its contractor discovered the bridge needed a few extra repairs. Those fixes required special ordered and fabricated steel structures.
