This is a demonstration of the GE 3-5366A Mini cassette recorder. It's DC BIAS just like every GE recorder. GE liked to make DC bias recorders back in the days. This is not the exception. It features the AVR function which allows to stop recording when the mic does not captures any sound. This way you can save tape and battery.
