Andrew Rhodes, Director of Operations at the Food Standards Agency, says three products supplied by catering company Sodexo have tested positive for horse DNA. Schools, care homes and the armed forces have all been supplied with meat from the catering giant, which has been found to be providing beef products contaminated with horse. Sodexo, which supplies to 2,300 outlets, is withdrawing beef from its UK sites "with immediate effect" as the scale of the scandal widened yet further. "There are three products that have tested positive for horse DNA, that's a mince product, a burger product and a halal mince product, and we're now tracing where those products have gone to and Sodexo are now in touch with all of their customers to advise them of what they've found," said Mr Rhodes. He added that the FSA was testing for "a broad range of substitutes" including horse meat and pork.
