Dr. Billy Cook, Noble Foundation Agricultural Division Director, examines existing and emerging technologies that may assist everyday livestock management in the near future. Cook looks at technologies that the Noble Foundation is currently evaluating including GPS-enabled animal tracking, automated livestock weight tracking, forage measurement with both UAVs and ground-based electronics, and the Noble Foundation's FORAGE365 project that seeks to identify year-round grazing systems that will eliminate the necessity of hay supplementation. Cook's talk was given at the Texoma Cattlemen's Conference in Ardmore, Oklahoma on February 26, 2016. The annual conference is presented by the Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation for the benefit of cattle producers in the Southern Great Plains.
