Munich's Film Academy, founded in 1976 has become the model of success. Its first president Otto Rögele spoke of the academy as a deliberate, carefully calculated, thoroughly prepared adventure but an adventure nonetheless. And even today the academy stands firmly by its combination of teaching and practise, research and development. They certainly have their reasons as they have produced around 500 film producers to date -- including 3 Oscar prize winners. Their list of alumni reads like a who's who of German film. We shadow film students on Tomasz Rudzik's graduate thesis film project and interview Oscar Prize winner Caroline Link.
