We found a HUGE grasshopper in our front yard, and introduced Gus (our Boston Terrier) to it. He found it quite entertaining and played with it, without killing it, for about 10 minutes, until he lost interest (actually the grasshopper had finally died). He would gently toss it around with his mouth and roll around with it like it was his favorite toy! So much fun to watch! I'm sure the grasshopper would say otherwise!
