Taylor's biggest body shape is bold, balanced and responsive. The 518e comes standard with a Mahogany top. A Spruce or Cedar top is available as an additional upgrade. The new-generation piezo pickup Expression System 2 is standard.

Taylor Guitars' Michael Lille runs the 500 series Grand Orchestra through several playing styles including fingerstyle, flatpicking and a lovely chordal pattern.
