This is a side battle where Guan Yinping has her bracelet stolen. How was it stolen, you might ask? Someone asked for it and never gave it back. Look, Yinping isn't exactly known for her smarts...

Fa Zheng and Ma Chao help in getting back the bracelet. We inspect Luoyang and happen across a perfectly normal peasant who offers us some friendly advice. Nice guy. He points us to the direction of a back alley, and going there will have the gates close on us and an ambush to trigger. What an odd coincidence, that.

Progress further into Luoyang and we'll be ambushed once more. Defeating this group opens the main gates, which lead to Ginchiyo and Muneshige Tachibana. According to them, we're the thieves. I haven't the faintest idea of who could have put that idea in their heads. Regardless, beating them down has them respawn as allies.

Now we've got a new enemy, Matsunaga Hisahide who has appeared as an enemy commander. Turns out he was behind the whole thing and it's very shocking for everyone. What's REALLY shocking is that the Tachibana's apparently believed this guy and didn't immediately think the guy with spider motif and scared face was up to no good. Also, he has a Onmyo officer on his side called Koji Kashin. He's the only one in this game and he caused some mischief more Hisahide in one of SW4-II's DLC stages that was pretty damn funny so it's cool to see him show up again. Hisahide even references him specifically in a few later stages.

Once we beat Hisahide, Sun Wukong leads a demon horde after us in an attempt to get the bracelet. Hisahide then becomes a commander on our side, who we have to protect, because he currently has the bracelet. Why we didn't just take it back immediately is beyond me. I'm sure a Deified Yinping would be no help at all in this situation.

Now the goal is to take on the enemies as Hisahide goes around to head towards his emergency escape route. Fa Zheng mentions Hisahide could escape with the bracelet while we're busy, but Wukong notices and sends some phantom doubles to deal with it. You win by getting your commanders to escape, not by just defeating Wukong and all of his doubles. But if you defeat them all and you allies don't immediately escape, 3 hyper mode generic officers will spawn. I have nooooo idea why. They're too spread out and Hisahide is likely about a foot away from the escape route once all the Wukong's are defeated so you hardly get a chance to kill them all.

Beating this stage gets us Hisahide, Ginchiyo, and Muneshige.

I played Zhang Liao and Mitsunari for the first time here. Zhang Liao still has a solid moveset with the twin halberds. He can give himself a nice attack and speed buff with his C4-EX and the rest of his moveset is just solid and hard hitting. C3 is a grab, so that's nice. C1-EX is good for guard breaking and clearing distances. Mitsunari is a bracelet user, so he has a Deity form. His moveset on its own is sort of bland in my opinion, I frankly never enjoyed it. His C4 and C5 are the way to go with him. His Deity Unique Magic has him stop time and slash at lightning fast speeds. The time stop affects everything, even your allies. And before you think Mitsunari got a new unique effect for this attack, nah. Another character uses and abuses this ability later down the line. WAY later, but still.
