Lomai To Review Cases in Light of Australian Compensation Decision

Ben Lomai, lawyer representing Manus Asylum seekers in the PNG courts, says they will review their case in light of the Australian compensation decision. Yesterday an out of court settlement in Victoria saw the Australian government agreeing to pay 70 million Australian dollars in compensation to the asylum seekers. The asylum seekers took out a class action against the Commonwealth and two security firms for damages on the grounds of false imprisonment and breaching duty of care.
