The BJP and the Congress have declared their candidates for almost all 230 seats for the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections. If we look at the list of candidates, both the major political parties in the state have avoided giving tickets to Muslims. While the ruling BJP has given ticket to Fatima Siddiqui, a Muslim candidate, the opposition Congress has made only three Muslim candidates. This includes Arif Aqueel from Bhopal North, Shahid Musarrat Sironj, and Arif Masud from Bhopal Central. The muslim voters feel MP's politics have marginalised them and their cause.
