"Politicians" was originally a poem written by my late great-grandma, Helen Harris from Thermopolis, Wyoming. I wrote a tune for it and will be featuring it on my upcoming covers album, "Scott Steven Erickson and the Antithesis of Cool" which will be released on 12/8/2017 at: scotterickson.bandcamp.com The actors in the video are Sarah DeStasio, Mike Pezzillo, and Orion Canning. The pottery featured is from Floating Feet Studios (@floatingfeetstudios). The person singing backup vocals is my mom, Rhonda Erickson. Special thanks to: Julie Day, Savvy Day, Sam Scarpelli, John Brooks, and Eden Viona. Lyrics: It seems that almost every day A politician comes my way If he's elected then it's his plan To save the country if he can (x3) The promises them fellers make Make me suspect they're all a fake It seems the thing for me to do Is listen 'til them guys are through Then ask them if it's their belief If there's a bill for tax relief (x3) I smoke them candidates' cigars When they ride up in fancy cars We talk away an hour or more And then I vote like I did before
