(13 Dec 2018) As the results of the no confidence vote on UK Prime Minister Theresa May came through on Wednesday night, the world's media parked outside the Houses of Parliament sprang into life. Conservative Party MPs backed May 63 percent for and 37 percent against. Jacob Rees-Mogg, who led the no-confidence vote, was whisked away from the media after giving just one interview. Professor of European and Foreign Affairs at King's College London, Anand Menon, who is also the director of UK in a Changing Europe, said the no confidence result "changes relatively little". Opposition Labour MP Richard Burgon, the Shadow Justice Secretary and Shadow Lord Chancellor, said May could not get a majority in parliament or even her own party and had "no negotiating credibility left".
