Ban urges G8 leaders to act

United Nations, New York, 24 June 2009 - Noon briefing by the spokesperson for the Secretary-General. In advance of this year's G8 Summit in l'Aquila, Italy, the Secretary-General has written to leaders involved outlining challenges that require their urgent attention.

According to Mr Ban, these challenges include meeting climate change and emission targets and working towards the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
