Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met his ROK counterpart, Kang Kyung-wha, on the sidelines of UN General Assembly. Wang asked ROK to accept China's "rightful concern" over the deployment of THAAD and "remove the obstacle that's in the way of developing bilateral relations." Kang said that the ROK is willing to step up the dialogue with China to properly resolve the THAAD issue and resume "vitality and dynamics" between the two countries.
