Video flight with my $90 WLToys V262 Cyclone quadcopter ($80 for US customers, click on US warehouse to get price ). This is a great quadcopter for simple, cheap, and easy aerial video tasks. It can lift this Mobius actioncam, and also the GoPro Hero 3 video cameras. Up until 1924 this was a huge lake, fed by water from the Sierra Nevada mountains in the background. But Los Angeles needed water, and around that time most of the runoff from the mountains was diverted to LA. The result is this dry lake and surrounding desert that you see today. Anyways, the background mountains seen in this video are some of the highest in the Sierra Nevadas, along with the United States. One of those peaks in the background is Mount Whitney. By the way, we saw the bleached bones of some large animal laying in the sand during our hike out to this location :o And here is that exact location: https://www.google.com/maps/@36.3778041,-117.8863873,198m/data=!3m1!1e3 As I always recommend, beginners please consider this cheaper option to learn to fly on before purchasing an expensive high-end quadcopter such as DJI Phantom or even AR Parrot. Keep in mind that crashing is inevitable for all RC beginners (it's a right of passage). The V262 is somewhat durable, as is the Phantom. But stuff happens. It also takes time learning to maintain orientation on a quadcopter. Losing orientation in flight can lead to bad results. Would you like to risk a $100 or a $1000 quadcopter while learning to fly?
