This #72 hit in 1978 was the sole charting country single for Alabama native Ben, who was probably best known for being the first white guy to be signed by R&B makers Stax records! For a "white soul singer", he does fairly well with a more country tune. Ben's not a terribly prolific maker of albums (one site I read about him on says he does one about "once a decade"), but he's still an active performer today.
